We went out to the caves in snow canyon to play hide and go seek with glow sticks and it was awesome!!!!!! Ashley new some people from st. george and they took us there... nicole got scared so she waited outside the cave.... i got caught first and ended up being it but i didnt get got first the rest the night... um hannah barry missy were there too!!! it was so so so much fun its like being in outer space down there!

the only things you could see glowing in the pictures were our hands from breaking the glow sticks they were covered ha ha

I dared hannah to put her head under the water when we were walking up the canyon to dry off and she actually did that i should have known and in the process of being in the river she lost her flip flop.... oh goodness

So my mom had surgery so she couldn't take krissy anne's pictures in her baptism dress so she could mail out an invitation like she has done in the past so i helped her out and took krissy pictures. We had to pull over and take a picture by the sign!! I was so glad megan came with me so i didnt have to do the eight hour drive alone... man that was one crazy road trip. We talked on my tape recorder the whole time. We had to go over this giant bridge i made megan drive i was so scared.

4- corners on my list of things to do before i die... i was so excited when we were going to pass it. Well we had to go a half hour out of our way to go there but we had to do the four places at once thing. The pose above is what i always thought it would be like but as you can see megan below it was closed. Its in the wrong spot. Its a little over a mile off so there changing the monument. So we were so close yet so far away from it. Man we got a good laugh though and took some goofy pictures

I had two interviews and three Job offers and i choose target!!! Man im glad thats all over with, it was quite the decision, kohls, summer camp leader or target... at least the job search is over i'm going to be a back up cashier and work the sales floor! After i got the job i realized that i had no kaki pants which is all i can wear so i went and bought some pants, way cute brown sketcher that are super comfortable and three red shirts i was sure that would be good to start with!

The worrying is over i found out i got my transfer students scholarship i got my letter in the mail!!!!! Good grades paid off i got the 1,500 renewable scholarship!!!

If you graduated from a Utah High School prior to 2010 and have attended another college or university, you are considered a "Transfer Student."

Transfer Student Scholarship Eligibility Rules

Must be fully admitted to DSC as a Transfer Student, prior to May 1st, 2010.
All official transcripts must be received by DSC prior to May 1st, 2010.
A minimum of 15 transfer credits are required for scholarship consideration.
Transfer GPA's of 3.30 to 3.499 will receive a one year $1,000 scholarship.
Transfer GPA's of 3.50 and above will receive a $1,500 renewable scholarship.
Students with Bachelors' Degrees are not eligible for DSC academic scholarships.
All awards are subject to availability of funds.

Transfer students who meet the May1st admissions deadline and the eligibility requirements, will automatically be considered for a scholarship (a seperate scholarship application is not required.)

I was so happy that i got to go home for MAY DAY!!! Got to love small town traditions! All the girls were so cute and Austin kept saying next year i get to do it! Can i just say how much i hate moving.... having to pack and than unpack and i keep saying this is going to be the last time ha ha but plans change and i probably will end up doing it again sometime in the future!!! This is the mess i lived in for a little while until i finally unpacked the last box!!

Im excited to get to spend time with grandma J when i was little i always talked about going to college at dixie and being grandmas roommate... it seemed so far away than. I remember thinking that day would never come but now i have two years under my belt and im excited to start dixie in the fall!!!

I did not realize how hard it was going to be to pack up my room and leave cedar city... the past two years there i learned so much about life and myself. I made friends that i will never forget. It wasn't all fun and games it was hard finally living in the "real world" but i overcame many obstacles. And i did have oh so much fun ha ha maybe i even played a little two much my last semester i have a b+ in nutrition to show for it. Living in windsor really made me spread my wings. I love the girls in apt 11 it will always be my home away from home!!! The picture below is the last thing i took down i couldnt bring myself to do it and i think its because these pictures are from the past two years. They were my life all the major highlights of SUU but Ive realized i will always have these memories and now its time for a new adventure. There's a big world out there and i have so much time ahead of me and so many great things to look forward too. So with the help of hannah banana it was the very last thing i took down. My dad came up to help me move I'm really glad he was there!

The Happy Couple!!

Chelsi is my one and only Wall buddy and it will always stay that way for now and throughout eternity!! We have been through so much together awkward middle school days... the ups and downs of high school... boy drama... church activities... spa nights... volley ball championships ha ha not really since we never counted who actually one... trampoline sleepovers... sleepovers... movies... girl talk for endless hours. She asked me to be her maid of honor and I felt so honored!!! I love ya girl!!! I am so happy for you and your hubby!! hannah saw i got a boo boo and doctored me up and than she went and got a big boo boo. So i dont want to be a teacher. Well its not that i dont want to be a teacher its just that i think i would like to do it for a couple years and not for the rest of my life. You see i realized that i can be a teacher in so many other ways i dont have to have my own classroom. So i have been freaking out cause i dont know what i want to do. I thought about photography i love to take pictures but thats the thing i love to do that for fun its kind of my out... my hobby i can do it when i want to and i dont want that to change. So no photography than i thought about business until i read all the classes you have to take and lets just say no thankyou... its not for me to boring. So i started thinking about what i like and i like the unexpected like not having to do the same thing everyday i love my options and my free agency. So i knew i wanted to do something that would allow me to express myself and have something new to offer everyday. Well after time i realized that I love to write and i love design and i loved my communications class that i took so i started looking into the communications majors and i am going to do communications with an emphasis with print journalism and in order to do that i am going to have to transfer to dixie and i thought well lets just see if i get in... well i got in and i have prayed about it and i feel like its right so mid life crisis over for now and i have a new adventure ahead of me. St. george here i come!!!

My very first and maybe only wedding... i was so so so nervous but Carlie begged me too. She is such a sweetheart it was way fun taking there pictures. Plus there was going to be another photographer there later so i wasnt as scared but theses are some of my favorites. Her dress was beautiful. It had been snowing all night but not much was sticking. Friends and Family,

I can’t believe Christmas is here again. Life has been so busy we have attempted so many new things throughout this year from dance to gymnastics, cheer to football, wrestling to photography, sowing to bat houses, swimming to fourwheeling, lagoon to the Oquire mountain temple, baptism to passing the sacrament, and so much more. Yet we always all seem to find our way back home especially around Christmas when we can all be together again.

Christmas is my favorite time of year and not just because it is three weeks off from school but also because everyone seems so much happier we are surrounded by the ones we love. We gather together to read Christmas stories, decorate sugar cookies, eat lots of yummy treats from neighbors, sing Christmas carols, give secret acts of service to each other to fill Jesus manger, open presents, leave cookies out for Santa, but my favorite is decorating the Christmas tree.

I’ve contemplated why I enjoy our family Christmas tree so much and I think its because it tells our families story. It shows our personalities through the ornaments hung on the tree. Plus putting it up every year adds a new memory along with taking it down. As we add new ornaments and put the lights on the tree, separate the branches, and watch Brandon and dad try to get it through the door how could I not love our tree? I know my moms favorite thing to do during the month of December is at night when all the kids are finally asleep she likes to sit in the family room in peace and quiet and read a book or just contemplate on life while enjoying the glow of the tree and really getting into the true spirit and meaning of Christmas. Also every night during the month of December we read a Christmas story before bed always in the family room where the Christmas tree is. Now with ten people it is always tricky to get all the presents under the tree but dad makes it possible. It is fun to see the overflowing gifts and no how loved (spoiled) we are but our tree is so much more than the presents underneath it. A lot more meaning goes into the reason I Love the spirit of Christmas oh so much. Watch as I explain how our tree tells who our family is.

Me (Alicia)- Well sadly I missed decorating the tree this year that’s what I get for not living at home anymore and once again writing this year’s letter. I am a sophomore still attending SUU and I love it! I got into the education program, which has been quite stressful over the last semester but I passed all four tests and my interview and it feels great. I have engaged myself in a new hobby, photography! I find myself spending to much time on it but what college student understands what it means to sleep. I have already explained why I love our tree, because it expresses each of us in our unique ways but my favorite ornament is my first Christmas ornament which is a bear and on the bottom it says 1991. I love this ornament because it helps me remember how far I have come and where I want to be going. It helps me think exactly where I am in my life and that is living life to the fullest taking everyday one day at a time.

Dad- now when I look at the tree only one thing reminds me of dad the lights. The time he sacrifices every year allows so many people to enjoy our beautiful lights. There is not a Christmas I can remember that doesn’t involve a memory with dad and lights. Well dad is great! Busy at work, raising eight kids, and fufiling his calling as Sunday School President (no more ditching). He has enjoyed very much shopping for his new toys this year his guns! He has got so many new kinds but im a girl I don’t know the names of them. Dad still enjoys spending as much time with his family as possible what can I say we are the center of his world. Dad is an amazing person full of life and service he is an example to each of us.

Mom- Bows, bulbs, and an attempt at organization. That’s my mom trying to keep a little order in our lives. Every year as we decorate the kids try to put their ornaments everywhere but mom likes her red bows and gold bulbs. Mom is so busy running kids here and there working in classrooms fulfilling her calling waking up at the crack of dawn for seminary and not going to bed till everyone else is asleep. My mom loves her new car and she loved going to time out for women this year. My mom has such a strong testimony and love for her kids I only hope one day to be half as great as her.

Megan- Scooby, as some of us know her still loves animals especially her dog shadow. When I see the Christmas tree what reminds me of her is her Scoobydoo ornament. Megan is 16 and oh my gosh it is hard to believe another driver is in the house. My mom loves it! Megan is a varsity cheerleader this year, which provides her the opportunity to be involved in the high school now more than ever. She works hard for what she wants and is always crazy busy. She loves playing her clarinet in the band and spending time with friends. She is addicted to her cell phone but what teenager isn’t and enjoys attending early morning seminary. Megan also received her young woman’s medallion this year she has amazing grades and is a great big sister.

Brandon- When I think of Brandon and the tree I think tall he has sky rocketed this year. He is as tall as me my little brother is all grown up. He played football again this year and I have never seen someone eat as much as this growing busy boy!!! He loves wrestling with the little girls and I told him he needs to tackle someone his own size. He must have took my advice because he started wrestling this year. He still plays video games as much as possible even into all hours of the night literally. I can’t believe he is twelve years old now and passing the sacrament he is such a great example. He is doing awesome in school and enjoys spending time with friends.

Ashley- She is in 4^th grade and her favorite thing in school is recess because she is a social butterfly she always wants to be playing with friends. She is in Gymnastics and dance but she claims she likes gymnastics better. Her best friend is Diana Navarro (she typed that herself). She is also in sowing class and she loves it sadly she can sow better than me now! Ashley and the tree I would have to say the candy canes! She always wants to hang them on mostly because there is the most. This reminds me of her because as the oldest sister of the little girls she always likes to have the last say and be the most in charge. She is little miss mom. She is excelling in school loves drawing and likes playing the computer a lot.

Jocelyn- when it comes to her and the tree it doesn’t matter what ornament she is hanging up as long as she gets to laugh. I love her laugh it can light up an entire room. She can be mischievous but her smile could change the world I really do believe that. Jocelyn loves school and her best friend is Tori. She works hard at doing her homework and gymnastics. She loves playing outside and she has so much energy. Jocelyn is such a big help with Austin she can entertain him for hours. She turned eight years old this year and was baptized. She has such a sweet spirit and is a good example to the little kids. Jocelyn is in sowing too she likes having something to do with Ashley she looks up to her a lot!

Krissy- Her ornament is dora. She loved dora when she was a little girl but this still reminds me of her today because of how much dora loves to learn and explore. Krissy loves to learn at school she was so excited when school started again but, even more she loves to explore her limits with mom. I think its just a second grade stage but she likes to see how far she can go. Krissy broke her arm just a bit ago. The first of all of us to ever break a bone. She did it at school but she has been so brave and happy through everything. She loves gymnastics and loves to draw and color everytime I go home I get a new picture from her. Krissy is excelling in all that she is doing she loves swimming and is growing up way to fast.

Sabrina- When I think of her and the tree my mom has an ornament of each of the nativity people Sabrina reminds me of the little baby jesus in the manger. She is still so sweet and innocent. She tries so hard to fit in with all the big sisters. She is in first grade and loves her teacher. She is such a big help around the house. She wants to be a part of everything. She is doing dance this year and she is so adorable. She likes going to church and always reminds us that we need to do scriptures and prayer even if it is just so she can stay up a little longer. Sabrina loves, loves, loves to play and color. She loves to giggle and she would normally rather always choose to stay inside rather than out she is such a girly girl.

Austin- last but not least. Austin and the Christmas tree is my favorite. He loves spiderman we can convince him to do almost anything as long as we tell him spiderman does it to well brandons ornament was spiderman but Austin took it away from him he said spiderman is mine not yours. That’s Austin the youngest what he wants he gets(mom got Brandon a new ornament). He went to preschool this year and he can write his name! He loves having mom to himself when everyone is at school. He loves his trains and playing outside. He always wants to be at dads side. He has a contagious smile and as annoying of a little brother he can be sometime life woulnt be the same without him.

Welll the gangs all here we are all heading in different directions but we are all excelling in our goals. We are living life to the fullest just by being who we are. As unique, unorganized and different our Christmas tree may be that is how our family is. But we love each other and support each other through the good and the bad. Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year. As we embrace each other and remember the true meaning of Christmas we get experience what this holiday season really is the season of love. Halloween as way fun we started by going to dinner to celebrate Lyndsay and Lane's birthday they are exactly a year apart lyndsay turned 20 and Lane turned 21!! We wen to Lefty's for dinner cause brenda had work! We took some fun pictures why we were waiting for food!! It was way fun finding things for costumes without spending money!! I had fun getting ready with krysta and kira. I helped curl both their hair and krysta also curled mine!! Chennelle me krysta and kira also went and visited gina and the girls and i got to see nicole and her boys it was fun to see all the kids in there costumes. Well after that we went back to Windsor for the halloween party it was way fun!! Tons of yummy food, happy birthday singing, fitting 40 people in our tiny apartments, dancing, BS card game, murder in the dark, talking, laughing, glow sticks, freeze. Me Jen Chennelle and Krysta also went over to Ashleighs party at eleven to make an appearance after jen got off work cause she invited us and we had chocolate chip pancakes over there and more dancing. We ended back up at our place by one thirty and than attempted to watch baby's mama but i fell asleep... ha ha it was a way fun halloween but i missed being at the beach with my family... sometimes it stinks growing up i have missed the beach the last two years:( but i had tons of fun with my friends they are all awesome i love living in cedar city!!!

So a couple of weekends ago was packed with fun!!! and some stress too... Megan came to visit she left logandale at seven monday morning so jenn could do her hair! Its awesome having a roommate in hair school. I have had fake nails for the first time and my hair so many different colors now i cant list them any more... plus facials, manicures so jenn decided it was time to spoil my sister as well ha ha. So while megan was getting her hair done i went to Cedar City's annual sheep parade. Main street was closed so they could move a thousand sheep from one side of town to the other it was great ha ha. My friend took pictures but i don't have them at the present time :( well after sheep parade we moved to homecoming parade cause it was the homecoming game. After homecoming parade megan was done so me and her plus a bunch of my friends kira, krysta, vonae and her sister, robin, and chennelle went to Ihop! It was the worst service i have ever had there it was awful but we had fun and kira stole the Ihop water jug/vase thing. Well after wards we went to the game and sat by sydney and her boyfriend paul. Than me and megan went home just hung out for a bit watched how to loose a guy in ten days such a good chick flick and than went to a bonfire that the girls next door planned out at three peaks. We set a couch they found at the dump on fire and roasted starburst it was pretty intense ha ha. Then me megan vonae and robin went to vonae's house to jump on the tramp and have hot coco!!! It was a fun-filled crazy and kind of weird two days!!!!! Than on top of all the crazyness megan stayed to here me teach my relief society lesson on sunday thats where the stress came in... but it was good my third lesson and i really enjoy doing it. It is helping my testimony grow so much and the best part is it makes five, and twenty minutes presentations at school feel like no big deal cause when i teach in relief society i have almost an hour!!! But i had fun with my sister thanks for coming to visit me megan i LOVE you!!! Your the best little sister in the world and you will ALWAYS be my Best friend in the entire world!!!! Missing you......

This picture wins the all time favorite!!! For a couple reasons i love the colors i love the yellow i love the dirtyness on the wall it makes the girls look so pretty but, most importantly i love how it shows jaci trying to comfort livi... The relationship between sisters is priceless and to catch it in a picture is even better. It makes me think of me and my little sister megan. It makes me think of when we were younger. Me and Megan decided to road trip to ARIZONA and once again i have no pictures :( i dont know what it is... it's like i go there and it's boycott camera or something. So this will just be a journal entry!! I picked megan up and we got there semi-late-ish. Which I'm pretty sure isnt a word and the only thing i remember from that night is me, megan, james, klint, and joni all laying on joni's bed talking for forever and than everyone went to sleep. The next day me megan jessica and joni went to lunch which was really fun and than we went to joni's classroom and helped decorate that was fun!! The next day we went shopping for megan's back to school clothes!! We got tons of WAY CUTE stuff and later that night me and klint went to this awesome mexican food place for dinner its called geko grill!! (im not sure if that is how you spell it). ha ha but anyways it was delicious and than we went shopping that was funny i got asked if we were "together" when klint was modeling clothes for me in old navy and while we were in the car klint was controlling my stero with his feet i remember him saying i am so glad i can be myself around you. We had an adventure for the night when Klint thought he lost his cell phone and instead it just ended up being a really funny story... we went to golden spoon which i had never been before either it was really good and while we were there this gay guy asked the guy who dished up our ice cream out. We were trying so hard not to laugh. We than went back to the house and fell asleep in an attempt to watch a movie while we were waiting for Joni and Megan and James to get back from the movies... the next day was sunday and oh my goodness i have to share this story so i wont forget it. I was wearing klint's suite jacket because it was really cold in sunday school well when i went to relief society the lady introduced me as this is alicia... as we can see she by what she is wearing she is visiting the fletchers... every eye went on me and i just looked down. Well after church when all ended back up at the house and i told joni and megan and james they were laughing and klint came home and was like i had so many people come up to me after church and say i saw the girl in the jacket.... we all started laughing he was like tell me the story... well than we drove home that afternoon i dropped megan off and i was so close to being home it was one in the morning when i was in st george and i got pulled over for drinking and driving because i forgot to turn on my lights for like two seconds so than i got a warning for failing to turn on my lights and i got teased forever for drinking and driving ha ha ha. It was a way fun trip i had a blast with my little sister and my friends!!!

So I went to Arizona to visit james and his family for Klint's homecoming. I can't believe it has been two years since he left its weird. So the weekend was packed with fun!! Painting signs... hanging ribbons. Going to the airport... tears and laughter and tons of pictures which i don't have ugh... meeting Klint semi-officially since i didn't really know him before and I have gotten to know all of his other siblings pretty well!! Lots of yummy mexican food:) decorating for a party cutting food for Hawaiian Haystacks. Going with james so megan and adam could go out on my sisters first date!! AHHH she is getting so old! It was so fun celebrating her 16 birthday!! Pizza and games!! Decorating the young's house and getting to see Jess and Braxton!! Really getting to know Klint was way fun he is an awesome friend and his testimony on sunday when he spoke in church was incredible. Ahhh i always have so much fun in ARIZONA!!!

Heavenly father knew what I needed this summer more than I did! Hannah and Brenda are my angels on earth for sure! They took me under there wings and taught me how much fun there is in Cedar City and what the world has to offer! These girls taught me don't hold back live life with no regrets! It's okay to be a little crazy and don't be scared to be who you are!! So many memories oh goodness. Moving in day they helped me with no questions asked, cleaning carpets ugh... they leant me there fans!! ha ha ha made me come out of my bubble and take my guard down. I went to Colorado for the long awaited day of TAYLORS graduation!! It was so much fun to see Taylor and her siblings I love them all there like my second family!! Well congratulations Taylor!! Finals were stressful but i survived... Moving was a mess and really hard to say goodbye :( but it all worked out in the end!! I will miss my roommates so much but i know its not goodbye just talk to you later sort of thing.

Me and Keshia had to put our room back to the way it was when we first moved in it was so weird it didn't feel like ours anymore! Keshia was the BEST roommate EVER!! She taught me so much and helped me survive my first year away from home!! I look up to her so much she has made a huge impact on my life and I hope we will stay friends for life!

So this was my final roommate hip hurrah!!! From last spring! I am so incredibly far behind on my blog and today is my attempt to catch up!! Ha ha ha... well I love my old roommates they were awesome!! This is us running through sprinklers which was on more than one occasion throughout the school year.

Swinging on swings!! The perfect way to clear your brain when it's on overload from studying this is me and Dani!! Plus this park day was so much better than normal cause it was part of FHE and we got free food!! And i know im not alone on this one every college students knows where to find the free food:)

Life is a THUNDERSTORM and you need to clear it up . . . you have to find that one spot where your comfortable at and rains not pounding on you constantly. You have to find that one spot and once you find it everything gets better:) you know you have reached your highest potential and that it couldn't get any better but then . . . it gets better . . . it surprises you!!! LIFE IS CHANGE WAITING TO HAPPEN . . . . . If we wait it out and do what we think than we will get results accordingly.

I loved this piece of advice so so so much i had to write it down so i would not forget:) It's stuff like this that makes me grateful that we don't have to go through life alone because i never would have come up with this on my own and it was just what i needed to hear.

Trip to arizona to welcome klint fletcher home! It was good to be there but also a little strange cause i didnt really know who he was. Before his mission we never talked. He actually got off the plane and when he started hugging everyone he didnt know who me or my mom was until joni introduced us ha ha. Well we made big banners and put them up and tied yellow ribbons all the way down the street i guess in brazil that is significant. You welcome someone home who you love and has been gone along time.

By the end of the trip i new who klint fletcher was though thats for sure ha ha we started texting and he text me all the way home. I learned so much about him and he gave me a birthday present these beads from brazil he gave megan some too. We celebrated her 16 birthday while we were there. Me and James went on a date ha ha so adam could take megan on a date. We had tons of fun!! It was great seeing jessica and braxton too!!!!

It was so fun watching them all get there diploma's... all i can say is i cant believe we all did it! we are all so old ha ha not really but man it feels like this day was never going to come and now ive been done for a year and there all done too! It's so crazy i dont know if i like this growing up thing and everyone moving away! It was easy this past year cause i went home and they were all there now everyone is going there separate ways. We are all starting a new chapter in our book! But good friends you never forget no matter how far away they are...

Nothing for sure but hopefully something will work out so i can work while i live in cedar city over the summer!!! So me and my roommates keshia and Dani went to the movies and saw Confessions of a Shopaholic!! I loved it.... I loved the line "You know Prada???" and i loved the scene when she is going through the machine and hammering out her credit card. Or in other words in the beginning what she considers a "magic card." Oh how sometimes i only wish they really were magic cards that we didn't get the bill at the end of the month. Well i had a fun stress free girls night out. I even got my self a treat.... ha ha ha i had a snickers. Its been forever since i had a real candy bar.

So i think i had my first most stressful week of college in my entire life last week!!!! So it started on friday the 28 ughhh when i had to give a speech in my child development class. So all day on saturday i was stressing myself out it didnt feel like a saturday i had two concert reviews for my music class i started studying for my Child Development class plus i had so much math to do before my math test on thursday and i had to go to the library so i could start my speech for my communications class which was on friday. Plus i got a letter in the mail from my professor in my education in society class which said i was in danger of failing..... talk about stress overload. Well anyways i had been praying so hard for answers to some questions i had been having about school. I felt like i wasnt smart enough there was no way i was going to get through college and be able to be a teacher. I was getting a C in my child development class and a C in math :( ..... I called my mom crying it was thursday before my first speech and she was like you can do this i know you can. So anyways self confidence started to come back when i presented my speech on friday and it went awesome!!!! I felt very good about it i was so proud of myself.... but than like i said saturday stress overload. Well saturday night my roommate was like i almost forgot to tell you we have stake conference tomorrow. Well the lord works in mysterious ways but the answers to my prayers finally started to come!!! The talks in conference were just what i needed to here. One speakers talk was all on if you want something than go out there and do it. Dont be afraid don't question yourself.... just do it. So i studied and i mean i studied i found out i got a 100% on my speech!!! This boosted my self confidence level by the ton. I than wrote up my outline for my speech and went to the speech lab and got help. I also took my child development test and i got an 86!!!! The next day i took my math test i dont no what i got but i felt really confident. I aced my speech on friday my professor talks to us afterwards and he told me i did very good we also found out that day what we got on our midterms... i got a 93%. I talked to my education professor and got everything straightened out in that class i am not in danger of failing thank gosh i have an 85% and its just getting better everyday. I guess the point i am trying to make in this is i learned alot about myself, when i want something with the lords help i can do it; i can do anything i set my mind to. He is aware of me, he hears and answers my prayers not always in the way or time that i want, but he does. But most importantly i learned that i am smart; i am going to have to work hard at becoming a teacher but one day i will get there. It is not going to be easy and i am going to have lots of challenges along the way but that will just make the day i get my degree and teaching certificate that much better. I will be able to say i put all of my effort into it and i accomplished my dream; i did not quit. I will be able to say i did it!!!!

Valentines and Presidents Day!!!

So i LOVE valentines day!!!! I ALWAYS have and i probably always will!!! Even though i wasnt at home this year so i didnt get to door bell ditch :( or have my giant cookie my mom is so so sweet she sent my dad with a present for me! It was this really cute bag which she has sowed filled with a teddy bear and candy.... i was sad because i told her i really wanted high school musical three but i new it didn't come out until tuesday but as you can see in the picture she tricked me. In the card she gave me twenty dollars to buy the movie when it came out!! My Roommate dani gave me the sweethearts and a spiderman valentine. My nana sent me the card it brought a smile to my face when i actually had real mail and not just my bank statement ha ha ha!!! She is so sweet i love her so much!! And my little sister sabrina made me the green valentine it says... I LOVE U!!!

So i had so much fun at the cabin with my dad and all my sisters plus brandon and salvador. My mom had to stay home with austin because he had his toncils out :(...... i promised my mom we would take pictures since she wasn't there..... This is me and megan playing in the snow!!

The Fire....

So the day before mori moved into my room my sister sent me a text saying our church building was on fire.... i was shocked... i was like are you serious??? She sent me back yes.... than she said on the way to school the smoke was so bad we could barely see. I had already been having a not very good week and than this hit me. Well i got a picture because megan and my good friends elli and jen plus megan's really good friend mandy called and asked if i would come down and sing for them on sunday when they played there clarinets to the song nearer my god to thee. I guess i hadnt really been thinking about it but when i went home and saw it for real and took this picture it all became so real. I loved that building its where i attended church since seventh grade... all of young women's. Its were i received my young women's in excellence award and had the interview with my bishop that allowed me to see my brothers and sisters sealed to my parents and our family for time and all eternity. But what also amazes me is that even though my ward along with the other wards and the many other people of my town had just had this huge devastation hit them; the church still moved forward. The leaders new what to do. This has been a testimony builder in my life just like i am sure it has touched many other people.

So me and my roommate Keshia went to my house on friday January 30th so i could see my little brother for his 4th birthday!! It was way fun to have cupcakes with him and take keshia to my highschool to watch megan cheer for JV and also to watch chelsi play for Varsity. I also got to go visit summer because she had her toncils out :( i took her string cheese and ice cream its the one thing she wanted!! She is doing pretty good i miss her so much i was glad i got to see her!! After the game i told my mom i was steeling my little sister and i brought her home with me and my roommate. It was fun talking all the way back home and it even started snowing on us... ha ha ha!!

So i definitley showed megan the college life... NOT we slept in until 9:00 or maybe it was 10:00 lol.... And then Jen and her mom came up. It was way fun to show Jen around Cedar City since she is moving here in June!!!! I am so so so EXCITED!!!!! Me, megan and Jen and her mom got smoothies from hogi yogi and than we headed to St. George!!! This is a picture along with many more we took in the car!!

When we were in St. George Jen was like i want to go to the temple!! So we went and walked around it was so much fun!! And so pretty I LOVE the St. George temple it is the one i hope to be married in someday!!

So Jen's mom made us go to CostCo with her and so we decided to take some goofy pictures but this picture was a sad one i only put it on because it was an important part of the day. I got a call on my phone from my little sisters good friend Ashlee saying there other really good friend Austyn..(aka) my little sister ha ha ha... had been in a bad four wheeler accident. I was glad i was there for my sister but i was really happy she could get home and be the best friend that she is. I dont think we realize the impact our friends have on our life until were worried they might be gone forever. I love you all four of ya... Jessica's Wedding!!

I had so much fun going to arizona and spending time with jessica the last couple of days before the BIG DAY or in other words the day every girl dreams about... her wedding day!! When i got there it was like ten o'clock at night and me and Jess talked for hours... the three days i was there i got like no sleep :( but i mad memories that will last a lifetime! I had so much fun decorating the church gym for the reception and i made tons of new friends. Martin Luther King Weekend NO SCHOOL!!!

So my first break after being back at school so i went home!!! We didn't do anything that grand i went and watched megan cheer and than stayed and watched the varsity game and sat by Jen in the band i mimicked her and tried to lead a little and than she accidently hit me in the head... I love watching megan cheer because of how much she loves to do it!!!
So the hair!!! Jen bought the die and took some scissors and hint the new hair!!! She doesn't even start hair school until this coming fall but she did a super good job!!! I really wanted it done for the pictures at Jess's wedding the next week. Jen cut three inches off the back. I love this picture of me and Beanie just being silly!!!!
Me and krissy!!! So when i headed home on monday everyone went to mesquite plus osiris family and we saw hotel dogs!!! It was really cute but on the way there i got my very first speeding ticket :( ..... We were trying not to be late for the movie and than i got pulled over... Luckily we weren't late for the movie though... that's looking on the bright side!!!! lol

End of winter break and first week back!!!!

We started off the new year at the happiest place on earth.... DISNEYLAND!!!!! This is the first new years eve i have ever spent in a hotel. Me Megan and Brandon along with krissy who was not supposed to be awake counted down to the new year we could here fireworks out the window but we couldn't see them because there was so much fog!!!! I had so much fun at Disneyland with all my little brothers and sisters. I love disneyland at christmas time! I think my favorite memory this trip was when all ten of us went on splash mountain. All six girls in one log and the three boys in the log in front of us lol!!!

So i think i took this picture the second night back at school with all my roommates ha ha ha. So there is a funny story with this we were all talking about our toes for some odd reason and than we all took off our socks and started measuring who had the longest toes and who had the shortest toes. The toes in the picture our mine and keshia's. The crazy random things we do....
Mori and Ken invited me to IHop it had been snowing a little on and off that day and while we were eating it snowed the whole time. So after we were done eating mori was like can we please make a snow angel. There was snow all over the parking lot and it was really late there was like no cars so we made snow angels in the IHop parking lot!!!!!
We were just in our jeans and light jackets so we were SUPER cold!!!! ha ha ha

My parents gave me a plane ticket to go to Colorado and hang out with taylor!!!!!! Ahhhhh we had so much fun and made memories to last a life time! We took so many pictures i put a bunch on here but i have so many more!!!!

Me and taylor didnt do anything that grand we just had so much time spending time together. We had many sleepless nights.... ok every night was sleepless!!!! We talked for hours we laughed we cried we were just two best girlfriends who have been separated for so long. It is so different talking on the phone and being there in person!

What can you say???? Put two girls together and you get this.... ha ha ha!!!! We even snuck a trip to paris in.... JK! We wish... i could barely make it to colorado LoL!!!!

So we made our big adventure jars!!!! The story behind this is we are going to save money to go on a grand rode trip!!! But first we have to get the jars full a couple times.... okay more than a couple times!!! Our plan is the summer we are 21 we go to 21 different cities!!!!

Christmas Break!!!!

So i realize that i have not blogged in forever and mostly because i didnt take any pictures on my camera over christmas because i was home and my mom took them all... lol!!! Well any ways i LOVED being home for Christmas Break!!! The first thing i did was the annual carter cookie party! It was so much fun to hang out with all my cousins. I loved sitting on Santa's lap and decorating cookies!

The next weekend Joni and her boys came! When they were there we went to St. George and there was snow at my grandmas house that is what these pictures were from. We got in a mini snow war unfortunately i think the boys defeated me Megan Summer and Ashlee. Later that night we went to dinner at Olive Garden, Yummy in my tummy!!!! Than we had the chance to see the forgotten carols. I love this production so much it wouldn't be christmas without the forgotten carols. I have learned over the years that christmas is so much more than presents. I also enjoyed performing in the forgotten carols with my institute choir... we put on our own performance the week before finals.

I had tons of fun with James we have been best friends for so long and we will stay friends for life. It had been raining tons in logandale so that meant 4-Wheelers in the mud! We had so much fun and got so dirty. I got stuck in mud twice!!!! The only part is you do the crime you pay the time... at least that is my dads rule anyways so we had to wash the 4-wheelers... ha ha ha! It was sad to say good bye but, the next day was christmas and they got to talk to there missionary! It was so fun to see all the kids on christmas and spend time with my family. Thanks to my friends who got me gifts my parents and all my grandparents!!

Friends and Family, December 18, 2008

You would think that moving away to Cedar City to attend Southern Utah University would get me out of writing the Christmas letter this year, but no such luck. When my mom came to visit she asked me to write the letter again and I feel honored to be doing it. I decided to do something a little different this year: Write the letter from the perspective of a 17 year old. Moving away has made me realize many things; such as what is important to me and realizing that the real world is harder than you think. There are many trials that we each have to face in life.

Moving away has taught me one thing for sure; my family is the most important thing to me in the world. I miss Brandon jumping on me and telling me to get out of bed on a Sunday morning, or Austin repetitively asking the same question over and over again until he gets an answer. I miss my mom singing “You Are My Sunshine” at bedtime and all of the goodnight kisses from the little girls. I miss my best friend, my little sister Megan, asking me what she should wear, or can you give me a ride to practice? I miss hearing my dad practice playing the primary songs on the piano. I miss family dinner every night. I miss all of the little things that I used to take for granted.

I love college, don’t get me wrong. I love my English class and I enjoy trying to figure things out on my own, but I don’t think a day goes by that I don’t call or text my mom because I don’t know how to cook something or my laundry went wrong or who knows what else. One thing I look forward to is talking to the kids on the phone or coming home. That is my favorite. I get so much attention that it is crazy! Austin’s hugs are priceless. I get so many new drawings from my little sister’s that they decorate my dorm room. Plus every night is a sleepover with Megan. My favorite thing though is before I leave to go back to school Brandon decides he’s not to cool to give his big sister a hug. The one thing I tell my mom before I go is that it’s not goodbye, just see you later. I think this is an important thing to remember. There are many people who are going to come and go in and out of our lives, but it’s not the end. It may be a while before we see them again, but everything happens for a reason. Well enough advice on life. I thought I enjoyed my cell phone before, but now it is my lifeline. It keeps me updated on life and from what I can understand this is what’s going on with everybody in our family.

Dad works at home more than he ever has before. He also got a new car!!! He called me the day he got it and he sounded like a kid on Christmas morning. He works hard though, so he deserves it. My dad is always keeping me updated on the world and one night he told me, “Alicia things are going to get hard, but we don’t have to be scared as long as we are prepared.” I am grateful for my dad and the testimony he has of the gospel. The one thing I love most about my dad is that he is a worthy priesthood holder that I can go to when I need a fathers blessing. Dad loves spending more time at home and the kids love him being there.

Mom is an amazing woman and I only hope that someday I can be half the mom that she is. I know I can always count on her. No matter how crazy things are, she finds time to pick up the phone and call or send me a text. Mom has enjoyed her new car, which she was nice enough to let me drive. It’s a pretty high tech minivan (crossover SUV) if you ask me. Mom is still our number one cheerleader and one heck of a chauffeur. She loves the world of blogging and I think it’s a great talent that she has acquired. Every time she adds a new entry it adds to our family history. Mom, all of us kids just wanted to say that we LOVE you so much!!!

Alicia is doing well at college. We are so proud of her. She wrote most of the letter (dad’s editorial comments are included). She called both Sherrie and me last week screaming something in the phone. We wondered what horrible thing had happened. We finally learned that she was “officially” done with her first semester of college. Alicia has come home for important events in the lives of her siblings and her thoughtfulness is appreciated by all. She started her own blog to chronicle the life of a college girl (ajticia.blogspot.com) and she adds stuff to it all of the time. She left her car parked for almost a week after the first real snow in Cedar City because she wasn’t sure she wanted to drive in the snow.

I don’t know about Megan, but I think putting distance between us has brought us closer. It has made me realize that I don’t have a memory that Megan is not a part of. She is my shadow, and even though she is younger than me I strive to be like her. She is the sweetest cheerleader I know. She has done a great job at being the oldest since I have been gone and she is always keeping me updated. Megan loves the 10th grade and can’t wait to get her permit this month. She enjoys playing the piano and is getting pretty good at it if you ask me. She is on the junior varsity cheer squad this year, still cheering for those Pirates. Megan works hard at her grades, and always finds time to play with the kids. I feel honored to have her as a sister.

Brandon got braces this year. I made my mom put a picture on the blog just so I could see it. Brandon always makes me laugh whenever I talk to him. He is such a good brother, I love hearing about his football games. He played on the sixth grade team this year. Brandon graduated from elementary school and started middle school. He told me on the phone, “Middle school is so much better than elementary school.” Brandon loves his deal with mom and dad, if he keeps his grades up then he gets to pick his electronics time (as long as it includes a few breaks). I am pretty sure he is keeping his end of the deal and loving life.

Every time I call I try to talk to Ashley, but she is such a busy 8 year old. Ashley got baptized this year. That was a special day for all of us. Gymnastics is her life and she loves it. She decided to do the competitive team this year and it keeps her swamped. Every once and a while she sends me an e-mail, she was so happy when mom set her up an e-mail account. Ashley loves school because she gets to be with her friends. Ashley is following in mom’s footsteps. She is constantly trying to take care of her younger sisters. One day she is going to make a great mom.

Jocelyn always knows how to brighten up my day. When I called to talk to her one day she said, “Why do you want to talk to me?” I said, “Because I love you” and she said, “Oh, ok.” Jocelyn is so creative, she is always drawing. She is Austin’s best friend. She takes him under her wing and teaches him how to do everything we don’t want him to do. But that’s what big sisters are for, right? Jocelyn is doing great in school and loves to read at scripture time, which is now every morning at 6:40. I hear it is quite entertaining to see all the kids drag themselves out of bed in the morning. Jocelyn loves going to gymnastics once a week and wants so much to be like Ashley.

Krissy Anne loves to tell me about school. She is excelling in the first grade. Almost every other time I talk to her she is telling me that she is on a new math packet. One day she was like, I am on take a ways now. I was like wow… she said Alicia it’s not hard. Krissy is growing up so fast she told mom this year that she wanted to be called Kristine at school. She said my name is Kristine not Krissy. She enjoys drawing and writing. She is also in gymnastics once a week.

Sabrina is so cute when she answers the phone. She does it just like mom taught her to. “This is the Jackson’s, Sabrina” (speaking). She is missing a few words, but it is so cute. I can’t believe she is already in kindergarten. Five years old, that is just crazy. Sabrina loves to play and whenever I ask her what she is doing she says, “I’m playing.” Sabrina loves to play with Austin and they have lots of fun together. They don’t get into the same trouble as Austin and Jocelyn.

Austin is a crazy little boy with a mind of his own. I try to talk to him on the phone, but it has to be his idea; just like everything else. But he’s such a precious, spoiled, youngest child!!! When I come home to visit he runs into my arms and squeezes me so tight. I live for those hugs. Austin is home alone during the day now because everyone else is in school. When I’m there, or anyone else for that matter, he loves it and he follows me everywhere and tells me stories and says, “Alicia come play.” He loves to ride the four wheelers and he is obsessed with Spiderman. He drives the big four-wheelers now and he is only three years old and I question my dad for teaching him how to do this (dad is usually hanging on for dear life while Austin goes as fast as he can with dad on the back).

Christmas is a wonderful time of year and my favorite. I love all of our Christmas traditions: Christmas lights, caroling, reading Christmas stories, Grandma J’s Christmas party, and the annual Carter Cookie Party. I hope that all of you can take time to smell the air and realize what this wonderful season has to offer. There are going to be hard times in life, but treasure the small things. Don’t give up on life and tell your families how much you love and care for them. Take time to smile and laugh, but most importantly to give someone a kiss or hug. Being able to feel loved in this life is the most important thing. Don’t let a single opportunity pass you by to show someone close to you how much you care. I have learned that it would not be the same without the ones I love, especially my family. I have realized this year that time is not something that you can get back, so you need to live life everyday to its fullest. Now when I am home I enjoy the noise and the time that I have.

So we got into the christmas spirit even though the semester ends this week and everyone is going home for christmas... but it was fun!!! We wrapped the door in christmas paper put a bow and we each made our names on something that has to do with Christmas!!

I made a gingerbread man!!! Isn't he CUTE!! I used skittles for the buttons!!

This was the bow!! We didn't have enough ribbon to rap it around the door like a present so we just tied a bow!! I am so proud of myself i think that is the BEST bow i have ever tied!

So after lunch i was on my way to Ashleigh's and I was so excited it started snowing!!! It didnt last very long like ten minutes... But it actually stuck to the ground!!! Me and Ashleigh being from the desert were so excited to have snow in december!!!

So there wasn't very much SNOW and we were both sad when it stopped snowing but we had fun taking pictures anyways!!!
Well to my surprise I was on the computer and my roommate came in and was like there is a blizzard outside so i grabbed my camera and we ran outside!! It was so cold but it was so fun!! Every time i took a picture my flash would go off so you could see the snow flakes way good but not us so much!!!

When we came back inside i was shivering it was so cold the snow blowing all over us i had keshia take a picture of me!!

I also took a picture of my car getting covered in SNOW!!

I LOVE my winter clothes!!! Just one of my new winter outfits!!! I have tons of new long sleeve shirts and jackets and beanies... I just felt like taking a picture of my cute new clothes!!! I took this on last Wednesday it actually stayed cold all day!!! I hope snow comes soon!!!

Mori's Train!!!!

Friday night i had my concert for Institute choir. We did the forgotten carols!! It was way fun... my mom and dad came to the show along with My roommate Keshia. Mori came down from New Mexico and went to the show too!! And my man summer and her boyfriend brad came... Summer did my hair and makeup it looked so so so pretty!!! After the show my dad took us to Denny's to get treats!! After we went back to the dorm mori did her favorite thing... She built a train!!! Summer and brad were very tired :( but here is everyone on the train!

My mom took the cutest pictures of us when i was home!! So i printed the off and hung them up on my wall!! I got the cutest little collage bored at Kohls when i went crazy early morning friday shopping!!

Well i LOVE this picture of me and brandon!!!

I think this was a great addition to my room!

Thanksgiving Break!!!

The Best part of thanksgiving break getting up at 3:45 to go crazy friday shopping!!!! Me and my cousin brittan waiting in line at walmart!!!
The crowd!!! There was so many people!! Me megan and brittan decided we were a little disapointed we didn't get to see two crazy moms putting up a fight...LOL!!! We had tons of fun we went to JC penny's at 4:00 than Walmart at 5:00 Kohls at 6:30 target at about 7:45 and than deseret book about 8:30 than we went back to grandma J's to get ready for the annual tradition of Santa's workshop!!! I love going and looking at all the booths!!

So i didn't take pictures when I went home for thanksgiving break because my mom did!!! But i have to write about it on my blog so i stole my moms pictures he he he!!! Thanksgiving was so fun at my grandpa carters!!! I loved holding my 27 day old baby cousin she was so cute!! Me and megan got my dad a new risk game for his birthday because his was falling apart... me megan dad and brandon played a fun game but unfortunately megan won:(

Pie was so delicious i have to say it is my favorite part of thanksgiving dinner!!! JK the turkey was delicious!! Grandpa does such a good job... I missed my dads rolls but we decided for his birthday present not to make him make them!!!

So on saturday Grandma J rented the entire movie theater like normal and we saw the new movie Bolt!!! It was so cute i loved it!! Than we went to this place for lunch and this years christmas story. This year it was my families turn and i got to read the story!!

On sunday we were in logandale again and we decorated the tree. I even helped do lights. I hung up the sixth light down from the highest part of the house... i was so scared!!!! I hate heights and i had to stand on the very top of the ladder.

Well i had so much fun with my family!! I love you all so much!!

Decorating for Thanksgiving!!

I am so excited for thanksgiving break!! Me and Keshia and Dani decorated the door. We traced our hands and made turkeys and than we put things we were thankful for on sticky notes!!!

Doing this made me realize how many things i have to be grateful for. Here is a list of a few things I came up with!!

1. my family

2. Great roommates

3. my job

4. the education i am getting

5. food

6. the country in which i live

7. having the gospel in my life

Cleaning and singing!!!

Well this was from a while ago but when on the Wednesday the week before Thanksgiving break i cleaned my room and did tons of laundry so i could pack to go home!!! I took a picture of my teddy bear too... just for fun!!! I really did clean though, i cleaned my bathroom and i vacuumed our family room and my room. It was quit fun i guess i turned up the music loud sang my heart out and cleaned!!!
